DHEA

Copilot answer:

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands that plays a role in producing other hormones, including testosterone and estrogen. DHEA levels peak in early adulthood and gradually decline with age, which can lead to various health issues.

Potential benefits of DHEA supplements include:

Improving aging skin.
Boosting bone density.
Enhancing mood and energy levels.

However, it's important to consider possible side effects, such as hormonal imbalances and other health risks. Always consult a healthcare professional before starting any supplement regimen.

I have no idea why trans individuals might use this but:

1. I know something about the adrenals.

2. This MAY help me figure out how to go from progesterone to estrogen and testosterone.

So what I know is progesterone is a precursor for BOTH estrogen and testosterone, there's two more steps between progesterone and either estrogen or testosterone and IF DHEA is produced by the adrenals, then progesterone plus DHEA might get us to the step just before we differentiate estrogen and testosterone AND that potentially means:

1. Progesterone producing meal

2. Plus adrenal support

Equals: one step away from making estrogen or testosterone AND up to this point, your gonads are completely irrelevant.

I need to review my notes and check this hypothesis and then somehow figure out what the final step is and how it differs between testosterone and estrogen.

BUT this implies that I might not be tilting at windmills. It may be feasible to intentionally create the hormones you WANT regardless of gonads.
