HRT, mostly trans related is kind of a koan
Years ago in my twenties, a friend of my husband talked about his mother being put on steroids and getting hairier and having to wax or whatever to get rid of that and taking up weightlifting. He said nothing about gender identity or masculinizing anything. It was spoken of as a side effect of life saving essential medical treatment and she coped as best she could. "Shrug"
I think trans individuals are making a mistake to make pronouns into a battleground of gender identity. I was tight for nine months with a horrifically abused trans individual who treated me terribly and my life still hasn't recovered.
In my view, a LOT of LGBTQ problems boil down to LGBTQ people having negative experiences because family can't accept them and then pissing on everyone they meet and expecting everyone they meet to put up with their shit and shower them with COMPASSION while they have NONE for anyone else.
I actively provide resources for the LGBTQ community. This site isn't the only thing I do in that regard.
This is a HRT sandbox. It kind of nominally revolves around the concept of "HRT for trans people" while I increasingly write about other medical conditions like bipolar and epilepsy.
I write over and over and over that I think it's a medical condition and I have a TAG for that if you want to hear me repeat that endlessly.
This IS a "HRT sandbox, mostly trans related." AND I say repeatedly that I think being trans is a sex hormone syndrome and we haven't really cataloged the many, many ways sex hormone stuff can go wrong in humans.
I don't really care about your ongoing hissy fit about your pronouns and your parents refusing to respect your gender identity and I think it's a mistake to make that a hill to die on.
If you see yourself like a Jew in hiding from the Nazis in World War II, maybe pull your head out your ass and stop expecting the entire human race to magically get over its baggage about anything and everything sex related when you don't have it all figured out either.
Male rock stars have long hair and dress in gender bending ways. Their families sometimes give them hell about it a la the song Get a Haircut and Get a Real Job.
I took an interest in Genevieve in part because I heard gender is a social construct as a feminist concept long before I ever heard of trans anything and I'm tall for a woman and don't -- le gasp! -- SEW, so I'm obviously a FAILURE AS A WOMAN etc ad nauseum.
We know Donald Trump is a shit show embarrassing this country and running it into the ground. It's not just LGBTQ stuff he's embarrassing the hell out of the US over and trans folk aren't the only people contemplating fleeing the US because it's currently such a cesspit. YouTube is full of videos about where to move for Americans who have had enough.
In less than three years, he will be out of office even if this country remains too retarded to remove him before then. So maybe stop biting hands trying to feed you and making it some bizarre package deal where "Either you are WITH US -- and our ENTIRE set of half-baked ideas we have decided are hills to die -- or you're against us!!!"
I have a deadly incurable medical condition and I rudely failed to die on schedule and I'm in social cyberia for this unforgivable crime and on track to die on the street of poverty. You are welcome to come here for ideas for needle-free, no prescription, zero gatekeeping HRT but leave your crap at the door and mind your manners.
No, you don't have to agree with everything I say. It's possible to disagree with someone without pissing all over them.
To me "HRT for trans" is sort of like a koan. It's a way to focus the mind on a difficult problem and set a high bar for coming up with solutions.
I have special needs kids. People tend to assume they are "aspie." Last I heard, Aspergers was no longer an official diagnosis in the Diagnostics and whatever Manual. Additionally, my life-saving medical diagnosis is a relatively recently identified relatively mild form of a very serious deadly condition.
So I have firsthand experience with definitions changing.
I personally don't think we really know what is going on with people who see themselves as trans. I don't CLAIM to know. I just like writing about medical stuff and "HRT for trans people with no needles and no gatekeeping" is a mental model for sharpening my writing.
If you don't want it, well, I'm not going to come to your house and MAKE you eat hormone producing foods. Just click out of the site and go watch stupid YouTube videos or something.
