Somatopsychic Disorders
Most people know the term psychosomatic. It describes a physical ailment that's really "all in your head." In other words, you're imagining you are sick.
Few people seem to know the term somatopsychic. It means your emotional or mental problem is a symptom or side effect caused by an actual physical ailment.
I suspect this is more common but unrecognized than psychosomatic ailments.
1. Biotin deficiency promotes crying jags.
2. Trypanosoma die off causes intense feelings of hopelessness and pointlessness.
3. Anemia causes a lack of energy which can make one feel depressed. Anemia can be due to a variety of issues, including iron deficiency and B vitamin deficiency. B vitamins are water soluble and can be sweated out, so this may be getting worse thanks to global warming.
4. Depression is promoted by inflammatory diet, such as the wrong oils.
5. Adrenals running on high promotes anxiety and if constant promotes paranoia.
6. Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) can cause anxiety and paranoia because adrenaline is how stored sugars in the liver get released. Having low blood sugar frequently and consistently leads to depletion of these emergency stores such that adrenaline no longer resolves hypoglycemia and now you just have nonstop anxiety and paranoia.
7. Vitamin C deficiency can cause irrational anger. It's water soluble and can be sweated out. This is potentially an explanation for why prisons see more riots in hot weather.
8. Selenium deficiency promotes frustration.
